  • Winter Exercise Tips
  • In winter, to give my dog a bit of extra exercise, I play fetch with him by throwing a toy up the stairs. He gets a great work-out by running up and back down again.

  • Exercise is good for a dogs' mental and physical well-being. Dogs can get bored, and exercise helps to keep then occupied. Exercise also improves the health of their joints and keeps dogs at the proper weight for their body types.
Over-exerting a dog can lead to joint or bone damage. Don't force a dog to jump too high or push to run too long or fast. Some breeds are prone to hip ailments, and these activities can cause early damage.
